July 1, 2022, marks the 70th anniversary of the Chengdu-Chongqing Railway. The planning for this railway was proposed during the world's major upheavals at the beginning of the 20th century but faced numerous setbacks before its completion. After the founding of the People's Republic of China, the state addressed the inconvenient transportation in the southwest by planning the first
railway in Sichuan.
The Chengdu-Chongqing Railway officially opened on July 1, 1952, heralding the start of rapid economic development in the southwest region. It was the first railway built after the establishment of New China and a "super project" that announced New China to the world. It embodies the steadfast and persistent character of the people of Sichuan and Chongqing, creating a unique collective memory. As the era of green skin trains draws to a close and high-speed trains become the protagonists of the era, this "elder" continues to witness China's rapid development, still serving its purpose today. The old Chengdu-Chongqing line still operates a daily regular-speed train, caring for the people at small stations.
This exhibition aims to tell the 70-year history of the railway in a new way, focusing on social issues and providing a unique response from young curators.

2022 年7 月1 日是成渝铁路建成70 周年。这条铁路的建设规划在20 世纪初世界大变局时已被提起，但命途多舛，久久未能建成。在新中国成立后，国家看见了西南地区交通不便的现状，所以将新中国第一条铁路规划在了四川。成渝铁路在1952 年7 月1 日正式通车，从此开启西南地区经济高速发展的序幕。它是新中国成立后建成的第一条铁路，也是新中国向世界发声的“超级工程”。它记录着川渝人民守正笃实，久久为功的性格，也塑造出了独特的集体记忆。时过境迁，绿皮火车时代已近落幕，高铁迅速发展成时代的主角。这位“老者”见证着中国奔腾的发展，在今日依旧肩负重任。如今的老成渝线仍以一天一趟的普快列车照顾着小站百姓。
本次展览试图讲述70 周年的铁路历史故事，以新的方式关注社会问题，并给出青年策展人的独特回应。
